Our story

The need of having access to cultural events in our rural area motivated us to open the MarinArt Cultural, Educational and Artistic Center (2019-2024), a house for cultural projects organised together with and for the local community, and later on Made in Sat - a platform where we bring art into rural areas and promote local artisans.

It all started in 2015 when we restored the old house of Gozman family from Marin Village, Salaj county, and we have created the ethnographic collection of textiles starting from the dowry of my grandmother, Fițiu Floare.

Since then, we have been organizing local events and festivals, workshops, ethnographic research projects, textile and heritage tours, brunches, photography and documentary film projects, and in 2021 we inaugurated the village library, along with a space for workshops where we collaborate with local artisans, local artists and craftspeople.

The most important objectives of our activities are the preservation of the local tangible and intangible heritage, the enrichment of the local cultural offer, the intergenerational and interethnic exchange, and the integration of art and reading into the rural communities.
